IRP 1R / 2R Series

The IRP 1R/2R is a two color portable pyrometer that measures temperature from the ratio of energy at two wavelengths. This keeps readings accurate through smoke, steam, dust and dirty windows, and on small or partly obscured targets, giving non-contact measurement up to 3000°C with a high 250:1 D:S ratio.

A two color portable pyrometer, or ratio pyrometer, measures temperature from the ratio of energy at two close wavelengths. The IRP 1R/2R stays accurate through smoke, steam and dust and on small targets, up to 3000°C.

Any obstruction usually reduces energy in both wavelengths equally, so the ratio stays the same and the reading remains correct. This lets the IRP 1R/2R measure through smoke, steam, dust and dirty windows, and on partly obscured targets.

Depending on the variant, the 1R covers 600°C–1800°C or 1000°C–3000°C, and the 2R covers 400°C–1200°C.

It offers a high D:S ratio up to 250:1, so small targets can be measured accurately at a distance.

Yes. The instrument supports a single-color mode with emissivity 0.10 to 1.30, in addition to the two-color ratio mode.

It uses through-the-lens sighting, so the operator looks through an eyepiece and sees the exact hot target the detector is measuring.

Users should check target temperature, wavelength pair (1R or 2R), spot size at distance, viewing condition and whether single-color mode is needed.
