Pioneer Technology in Powder Sankyo Piotech (earlier Sankyo Dengyo) succeeded in commercializing for the
first time in the world an Impactline Flowmeter for use as an impact type
flowmeter for powder and bulk solids in 1968. This flowmeter attracted both
domestic and foreign attention as soon as it was marketed, and also served as an
opportunity for our rapid growth. Subsequently, they successively developed
various kinds of new flowmeters such as the two scale hoppers type Stopless
Flowmeter, and by using these new flowmeters they expanded their product lines
to include constant feeders, grinding meters, grain size analyzers and bulk
density meters which are being used widely today by factories handling powder
and bulk solids all over the world for factory automation (FA).
Sankyo Piotech has also delved into research to
develop instruments for measuring the secondary characteristics of
powder and bulk solids. More than ten years ago, they completed a Powder
Bed Tester for measuring the dynamic properties of powder beds, followed
with the development of a Wettability Tester for wettability
measurement, a Tabletability Tester for tabletability measurement and
various kinds of testers for measuring electrical characteristics. These
instruments are indispensable for research on powder and bulk solids as
well as for quality control.
